(PNA photo)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>MANILA &#8212;<\/strong>\u00a0The Department of Transportation (DOTr) is still pushing for the installation of cable cars as an alternative mode of public transportation.<\/p>\n<p>DOTr Secretary Arthur Tugade said the department is currently in negotiations with various proponents to offer a rate that is similar to public utility vehicles (PUVs).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere are also conversations I have not forgotten about the cable car. We are finalizing certain details. Hopefully, I would be able to convince proponents to agree on a rate,\u201d Tugade said in a speech at the Asia CEO Forum at the Manila Marriott Hotel in Pasay City on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI want a rate of the cable car to be more or less parallel with the rates of the jeepney, the bus, the taxi, LRT, and MRT.
