MANILA<\/strong>\u00a0— Women’s basketball Hall of Famer Sheryl Swoopes will visit the Philippines as a special guest of the Jr. NBA National Training Camp that will take place from May 19-20.
\nSwoopes will help in coaching camp participants who were chosen from the regional camps held in Bacolod, Butuan, and Makati.<\/p>\n

Swoopes, who played in the first 12 seasons of the WNBA, starred for the Houston Comets, the team who signed her during the inaugural season of the league.<\/p>\n

She retired from the game with four WNBA titles, six All-Star appearances, three MVP awards, and one Olympic gold medal, bringing her to the Naismith Hall of Fame in 2016 and the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame the following year.<\/p>\n

Joining her in the national training camp is Sacramento star Willie Cauley-Stein.<\/p>\n

Cauley-Stein was selected sixth overall by the Kings in 2015 and has been one of their top players.<\/p>\n

The first day of the two-day camp will be held at the Don Bosco School in Makati, while the culmination, highlighted by the selection of the Jr. NBA All-Stars, will be at the SM Mall of Asia Music Hall in Pasay City.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
