Duterte and Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguy\u1ec5n Xu\u00e2n Ph\u00fac on the sidelines of the 32nd ASEAN Leaders\u2019 Meeting in Singapore.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe President (Duterte) and Prime Minister (Nguy\u1ec5n) discussed about the purchased of rice. Vietnam reiterating their willingness to supply quality rice to the Philippines,\u201d Roque said.<\/p>\n<p>Moreover, Roque said that fishermen being arrested for illegal fishing was also discussed with Duterte downplaying the issue.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur President is stressing that it\u2019s not a big issue. It\u2019s a small issue since in the end, fishermen are being released anyway,\u201d Roque said.<\/p>\n<p>According to Roque, Nguy\u1ec5n thanked Duterte after he found that the Philippine President even led the send-off for the arrested Vietnamese fishermen.<\/p>\n<p>He said the two leaders also agreed to strengthen cooperation in terms of security between the two countries.
