The Atlantic province of Prince Edward Island has issued 169 invitations in a new draw announced Friday, including 75 to Express Entry candidates.<\/p>\n

The draw took place on April 19 and is the third through Prince Edward Island\u2019s Expression of Interest system, which was introduced in February.<\/p>\n

PEI\u2019s Office of Immigration said the\u00a0Express Entry<\/a>\u00a0candidates invited are either currently working in the province or had graduated from one of its post-secondary institutions. Those invited had Expression of Interest scores that ranged from 37 to 87 points.<\/p>\n

Express Entry candidates who wish to be considered under the\u00a0PEI Express Entry Category<\/a>\u00a0must create a profile in the province\u2019s\u00a0Expression of Interest system<\/a>. Profiles are reviewed and assigned points based on six selection factors: age, language, education, work experience, employment, and adaptability up to a maximum of 100 points.<\/p>\n

Express Entry candidates who have been invited through the PEI Express Entry Stream have 90 days from the invitation date to submit a complete application to the province\u2019s Office of Immigration.\u00a0 Applicants who are nominated by PEI receive an additional 600\u00a0Comprehensive Ranking System<\/a>\u00a0(CRS) points, leaving them well position to receive an Invitation to Apply for Canadian permanent residence.<\/p>\n

Labour Impact and Business Impact invitations also issued<\/h3>\n

The April 19 draw also issued invitations to 77 candidates in PEI\u2019s\u00a0Labour Impact Category<\/a>\u00a0and 17\u00a0Business Impact Category<\/a>\u00a0applicants.<\/p>\n

Candidates invited through the Labour Impact Category had scores that ranged from 22 to 85, while the scores for Business Impact Category candidates ranged from 135 to 155.<\/p>\n

PEI\u2019s Labour Impact Category is for individuals who possess skills and experience that are needed in PEI\u2019s labour market. The category is divided into three streams:\u00a0Skilled Workers<\/a>,\u00a0Critical Workers<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0International Graduates<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Business Impact Category is also divided into three streams:\u00a0100% Ownership<\/a>,\u00a0Partial Ownership<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Work Permit<\/a>.<\/p>\n

PEI\u2019s Office of Immigration did not provide a breakdown of how many candidates were invited through each stream in Labour Impact and Business Impact streams.<\/p>\n
