{"id":161349,"date":"2018-04-24T05:27:39","date_gmt":"2018-04-24T09:27:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/?p=161349"},"modified":"2018-04-24T05:27:39","modified_gmt":"2018-04-24T09:27:39","slug":"robredo-hits-columnist-over-fake-news","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/2018\/04\/24\/robredo-hits-columnist-over-fake-news\/","title":{"rendered":"Robredo hits columnist over &#8216;fake news&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Vice President Leni Robredo slammed Manila Times columnist Rigoberto Tiglao for spreading &#8220;fake news&#8221;\u00a0that she and the Liberal Party (LP) have influenced the passage of European lawmakers&#8217; resolution asking the Duterte administration to respect human rights in its war on drugs.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Tiglao in his article said he was informed that while in Germany for a forum, Robredo and some LP members\u00a0met with &#8220;German members of the European Parliament to urge them to have the April 18 resolution passed.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Reacting to this, Robredo said in a statement posted on her Twitter account, &#8220;I\u00a0don&#8217;t read his columns nor do I know him. One thing I can say is he definitely is a purveyor of fake news.
