Interior and Local Government officer-in-charge Eduardo A\u00f1o said that how Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Director General Oscar Albayalde would handle the issue of Special Action Force’s (SAF) withheld allowances will be his \u201clitmus test.\u201d<\/p>\n
The DILG chief told Albayalde that as part of his internal cleansing, he should prioritize the unreleased daily subsistence allowance and the explosive ordnance disposal hazardous pay of the SAF troopers amounting to P59.8 million.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis should be his first priority and will serve as a litmus test on how he will carry out the internal cleansing program within the police organization,\u201d A\u00f1o said.<\/p>\n
He added that the fact that Albayalde was a former SAF executive should move him to speed up efforts in fixing the mess.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe is a former SAF commando and official so he knows the struggles of SAF and how they look forward to receiving additional benefits from the PNP,\u201d A\u00f1o said.<\/p>\n
