(Photo: VP Leni Robredo\/Facebook)\" width=\"960\" height=\"639\" srcset=\"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/Leni-Robredo.jpg 960w, https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/Leni-Robredo-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/Leni-Robredo-768x511.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 960px) 100vw, 960px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-158599\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">FILE: Vice President Leni Robredo (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/VPLeniRobredoPH\/photos\/a.1590390024411993.1073742129.283945495056459\/1590390157745313\/?type=3&amp;amp;theater\">Photo:<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/VPLeniRobredoPH\/\">VP Leni Robredo\/Facebook<\/a>)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The Vice President defended that her trip to Berlin, Germany last week was not funded by the government, and said that this was a product of fake news.<\/p>\n<p>Vice President Maria Lenor \u201cLeni\u201d Robredo on April 15, Sunday, took to her official and verified social media accounts to confirm that the said foreign trip \u201cwas fully financed by Friedrich Naumann Foundation (FNF).&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cContrary to the fake news spreading online that this was \u2018paid for by the Republic of the Philippines,\u2019 no amount was charged to the Philippine government,\u201d the post read.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLet us be critical and vigilant against false information posted online and offline,\u201d it added.<\/p>\n<p>The post also attached a link to the FNF\u2019s website for the public to verify the trip\u2019s details.<\/p>\n<p>According to foundation\u2019s website, it hosted a Study Visit Program in Berlin, Germany this April for key Philippine public officials \u201cwho are dedicated to finding sustainable solutions to poverty-elimination and social justice.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Robredo, Chairperson of the Liberal Party (LP), was also joined by the said party\u2019s president, Senator Francis Pangilinan; Marikina City Representative Miro Quimbo; Quezon City Representative Jorge Banal; Dinagat Representative Kaka Bag-ao; Ifugao Representative Teddy Baguilat; and former Department of Budget and Management (DBM) Secretary Florencio Abad.<\/p>\n<p>The FNF is a foundation based in Germany that aims to promote liberal principles and political education.
