{"id":159675,"date":"2018-04-12T02:52:03","date_gmt":"2018-04-12T06:52:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/?p=159675"},"modified":"2018-04-12T02:52:03","modified_gmt":"2018-04-12T06:52:03","slug":"chinas-xi-jinping-will-be-in-ph-this-november","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/2018\/04\/12\/chinas-xi-jinping-will-be-in-ph-this-november\/","title":{"rendered":"China\u2019s Xi Jinping will be in PH this November"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Chinese president Xi Jinping is expected to visit the Philippines this November, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said.<\/p>\n<p>Xi is set to come to the country after attending world leader\u2019s meeting at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit in Papua New Guinea which will be held on November 12 to 18.<\/p>\n<p>The news of Xi&#8217;s visit to the Philippines came after President Rodrigo Duterte&#8217;s trip to China where he\u00a0attended the Boao Forum for Asia and engaged in a bilateral meeting with Xi in a bid to enhance the relationship of the two countries.<\/p>\n<p>While in China, Duterte sealed business deals for the Philippines that focus on energy, tourism, agriculture, fisheries, infrastructure, land reclamation, and creation of 10,800 jobs.<\/p>\n<p>It can also be recalled that before leaving for China, Duterte has expressed admiration for the generosity of Xi and the latter\u2019s willingness to always support the Philippines in various projects.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>(DAILY NEWS ROUND UP FOR 04\/ 12\/18)<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Chinese president Xi Jinping is expected to visit the Philippines this November, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said.
