MANILA<\/strong>\u00a0— The Philippine Malditas missed out on their first chance of claiming their very first FIFA Women’s World Cup stint after bowing to China, 0-3, in the second day of the AFC Women’s Asian Cup in Amman, Jordan on Monday night (Philippine time).<\/p>\n

A brace from Li Ying highlighted China’s stomping on the Malditas as the team secured a spot in the semifinals and a FIFA WWC seat for the seventh time.<\/p>\n

Li drew first blood for the Chinese side in the 17th minute with a close-range effort, while Ma Jun fired a goal from outside the box in the 31st minute for the 2-0 count. Li sealed the win for China with her second goal in the 57th minute.<\/p>\n

The Malditas threatened to enter the scoreboard, but their late tries went over the post.<\/p>\n

China remains on top of their group with a perfect six points after two matches.<\/p>\n

The Malditas, on the other hand, remained at three points, and they now need to get a win against Thailand on Friday (Philippine time) to join China in the next round.
