Incoming Philippine National Police Chief Director Oscar Albayalde said that he will concentrate on imposing discipline and responsibility upon his policemen.<\/p>\n

Through a video conference with the media on April 6, Friday, Albayalde who was described as \u2018strict\u2019 by the President, is already planning to further enforce this in his upcoming PNP top cop stint.<\/p>\n

\u201cHere, as part of our internal discipline and part of our internal cleansing, we will put responsibility on various commanders on the ground down the PCP (police community precinct) level,\u201d he told reporters.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey will be made responsible for the deeds or misdeeds or the actions or misactions of all their subordinates o lahat ng tauhan nila doon sa kanilang opisina <\/em>(or all their personnel in their office),\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

Albayalde, who is currently the regional director of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) is known for his surprise inspections to different police precincts to check on those sleeping and slacking on their uniformed duties.<\/p>\n

As the next person to fill the top cop post, he will be replacing PNP Director General Ronald \u201cBato\u201d dela Rosa, who was his batchmate at the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) Sinagtala class of 1986.<\/p>\n

With the PNP\u2019s role to President Rodrigo Roa Duterte\u2019s campaign against illegal drugs, Albayalde said that the war on drugs will continue on his stint.<\/p>\n

\u201cIpagpapatuloy po natin \u2018yan, \u2018yung<\/em> Oplan Tokhang\u2026 nakita naman natin na napakaganda ng resulta at ito talaga ang programa ng ating Pangulo, kaya \u2018yan po ay magpapatuloy po \u2018yan, hindi tayo mag-re<\/em>-relax or sa<\/em> Oplan Double Barrel or doon sa<\/em> war on illegal drugs natin<\/em>, we will not relent doon sa programa natin<\/em> on war on drugs (We will continue Oplan Tokhang\u2026 we saw how great the results were and this is really the program of the President, that is why we will continue it. We will not relax on Oplan Double Barrel or on our war on illegal drugs, we will not relent on that program),\u201d Albayalde explained.<\/p>\n

Yesterday, April 5, Duterte in the awarding of farmers and fishermen announced his appointment of Albayalde.<\/p>\n

Duterte said he asked people from Davao after mentioning two names for the PNP chief post.<\/p>\n
