{"id":158191,"date":"2018-03-26T02:24:35","date_gmt":"2018-03-26T06:24:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/?p=158191"},"modified":"2018-03-26T02:25:06","modified_gmt":"2018-03-26T06:25:06","slug":"tagle-warns-against-arrogant-leaders","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/2018\/03\/26\/tagle-warns-against-arrogant-leaders\/","title":{"rendered":"Tagle warns against &#8216;arrogant leaders&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Manila Archbishop Luis Antonio Cardinal Tagle warned the public against \u201cleaders filled with arrogance\u201d as many have already been followers of this bad example.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Tagle said this as he delivered his Homily in celebration of Palm Sunday, March 26 at the Manila Cathedral.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cOur world today is dominated with kings filled with arrogance and short of humility. Today, there are many who follow kings who use violence, arms, and threat \u2013 with no understanding and unity with the weak,\u201d the Archbishop said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Taking Jesus Christ as an example, Tagle said leaders should emulate him for in the \u201ceyes of the world He was a King who never used violence.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cOur King, does not rely on violence. He does not believe in weapons. Does not believe in sword. Does not believe in bullet and guns,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Tagle stressed that a person can only save the world if he has faith in God as this is a characteristic of a \u201ctrue authority.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cThe serene dignity and silence of the person who trusts in God, and who is in<b>\u00a0<\/b>full solidarity with sinful humanity \u2013 that is true authority. That is our true King.
