New York-based Filipino American philanthropist Loida Nicolas-Lewis challenged President Rodrigo Duterte to make public the recording of the telephone conversation that would prove her alleged involvement in the International Criminal Court\u2019s (ICC) investigation on supposed human rights violation of the chief executive.<\/p>\n
\u201cSince President Rodrigo Duterte has revived his accusations with the same bogus, fake news, I want him to release the so-called telephone conversation I supposedly had regarding the ICC case to investigate him,\u201d Nicolas-Lewis said in a statement.<\/p>\n
This after Duterte said he would release a copy of the recording given to him by \u201csome countries.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cWhy do I know Loida Reyes? She was also tapped. That\u2019s why I said, \u2018look, I have a copy of your conversation. It was not given to me by America but by somebody else, by some countries.\u2019 This will come out,\u201d the President said in a speech on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
Nicolas-Lewis slammed the remarks of Duterte, saying that any \u201cwiretapped conversation\u201d given by a \u201cforeign country\u201d is \u201cbogus and made up.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cI have already stated this before and I will state it again: I am not in any way involved in the International Criminal Court’s decision to investigate you or the extrajudicial killings in the Philippines,” Lewis said.<\/p>\n
\u201cKindly release to the media my so-called telephone conversation with ICC that never happened,” she added.<\/p>\n
