While everyone expected a princess-like celebration from such a young actress, Alexa Ilacad chose to spend her day with something that she loves. It was not only\u00a0her passion for acting, but she revealed that her love for the fur babies has been occupying the rest of her heart.<\/p>\n<p>The young actress shared the warmth and happiness in celebrating her special day with the animals.<\/p>\n<p>Alexa told Rated K that choosing to celebrate her 18<sup>th<\/sup> birthday at the Philippine Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) with rescued animals made her day extra special. In late February, Alexa hosted a feeding program for dogs and cats.<\/p>\n<p>Through Instagram, she also thanked the people who donated to prevent the dogs in Los Ba\u00f1os from being &#8220;put down.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I am so grateful for all your kind souls, &amp; until now I still can\u2019t help but tear up when I am reminded of your generosity in helping our furbabies in need,&#8221; she captioned.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t want a debut <em>na<\/em> (that is a) big fancy party. <em>Hindi kasi ganun ang<\/em> (That is not my) personality <em>ko<\/em> so this is the perfect way to celebrate my 18<sup>th<\/sup> birthday. To celebrate it with something I\u2019m really passionate about,\u201d she said on her Rated K feature.<\/p>\n<p>Alexa said that shelter animals have melted her heart ever since she had her first rescued cat named Salem.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>Parang nalunod siya sa<\/em> (She drowned) in her own pee,\u201d she said, reminiscing about Salem\u2019s last moments.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>Dahil ako hindi ako makapag<\/em>-adopt <em>sa sarili ko, ang ginagawa ko na lang is tutulungan ko \u2018yung mga<\/em> rescuers (Since I cannot adopt on my own, what I am doing is that I am helping the rescuers),\u201d she uttered.<\/p>\n<p>The \u201cGood Son\u201d actress also said that her love for animals only tripled when her best friend gave her Blush \u2013 a tiny Maltese.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>Iba talaga<\/em> (It is really different) when you say that a dog is a man\u2019s best friend, <em>napapatunayan talaga nila \u2018yun eh <\/em>(they can really prove it),\u201d she said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Fancy balls, with 18 roses, 18 gifts, name it.
