(<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/senateph\/photos\/a.815377408486542.1073741828.749071305117153\/1805237122833894\/?type=3&amp;theater\">Photo<\/a>: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/senateph\/\">Senate of the Philippines\/Facebook<\/a>)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The Commission on Appointments (CA) on Wednesday, March 7, confirmed the appointments of seven lawmaker-reservists and two other military officials to the rank of Colonels in the reserve force of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).<\/p>\n<p>This decision came after CA national defense recommended their appointment without any question nor objection.<\/p>\n<p>Seven members of the Congress were promoted from the rank of Lieutenant Colonel to the rank of Colonel, the following are: House Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez; House Majority Leader Rodolfo Fari\u00f1as; CA National Defense committee chair and Cavite 5<sup>th<\/sup> District Representative Roy Loyola; Deputy Speaker and Cebu 3<sup>rd<\/sup> District Representative Gwendolyn Garcia; Deputy Speaker and Maguindanao 1<sup>st<\/sup> District Representative Bai Sandra Sema; and Senators Loren Legarda and Manny Pacquiao.<\/p>\n<p>Pacquiao, Loyola, Garcia, and Sema were appointed to the Philippine Army (PA), while Alvarez was assigned to Philippine Navy-Marines; Legarda to Philippine Air Force; and Fari\u00f1as to Judge Advocate General Service.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, two other military officials\u2014Major Gen. Rene Glen Paje and Col. Agabas\u2014also got a nod from the CA.<\/p>\n<p>Senator Gregorio Honasan moved their confirmation during the plenary.
