He was assisted by Volunteers Against Crime and Corruption (VACC) lawyer Manuelito Luna.<\/p>\n<p>According to Luna, Aquino connived with the top magistrate in her appointment to replace late Chief Justice Renato Corona.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t believe that the Office of the President, then headed by Benigno Aquino III, would have vetted [Sereno]. <em>Hindi nag<\/em>-background check <em>muna bago niya pinili si<\/em> Chief Justice Sereno to be the chief justice <em>at sa aming palagay nagkaroon ng<\/em> conspiracy <em>sa sitwasyong ito at si<\/em> Maria Lourdes Sereno was part of this (He did not perform a background check on Chief Justice Sereno before appointing her as chief justice, and we think there is a conspiracy in this situation that Maria Lourdes Sereno was part of this),\u201d Luna further said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSereno\u2019s conspiracy with Capacite and Pascual may be inferred from the facts.
