(PNA Photo)\" width=\"415\" height=\"260\" srcset=\"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/Duterte-Bato.jpg 415w, https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/Duterte-Bato-300x188.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 415px) 100vw, 415px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>For the second time, the President extended the term of Philippine National Chief (PNP) chief Director General Ronald \u201cBato\u201d dela Rosa, who according to him is \u201cenjoying his trust and confidence.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>During his speech in the induction of new officers of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce Inc. in Malaca\u00f1ang , President Rodrigo Duterte mentioned that the \u201cpolice has always been a problem.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere are scoundrels, scalawag in every organization. That\u2019s why the PNP [chief] now who is supposed to retire on 24<sup>th<\/sup> of April and because he enjoys my trust and confidence, I will extend his term for a little bit longer,\u201d Duterte said.<\/p>\n<p>According to Duterte, \u201cI was reading the state of affairs. I said I would need somebody still to continue with the reforms so General Dela Rosa popularly called Bato, will have an extended term.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The PNP chief is supposed to have his mandatory retirement last January 21 for turning 56 years old, but it was extended to April 21.<\/p>\n<p>(Read: <a href=\"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/2018\/01\/02\/bato-confirms-term-extension-as-pnp-chief-until-april-21\/\">Bato confirms term extension as PNP chief until April 21<\/a>)<\/p>\n<p>While the President did not specify how long, a chance interview with Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea resulted to information that Dela Rosa\u2019s term will be extended for three more months.<\/p>\n<p>Back in December, Dela Rosa has hinted that Duterte had more plans for him.<\/p>\n<p>(Read: <a href=\"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/2017\/12\/12\/bato-to-take-the-toughest-govt-post-after-retirement\/\">Bato to take the \u2018toughest\u2019 gov\u2019t post after retirement<\/a>)<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>Ewan ko, basta sinabihan ako ni Presidente, kung anong pupuntahan ko. Pero napakahirap na trabaho<\/em>, the most challenging <em>na trabaho sa buong gobyerno<\/em> (I don\u2019t know but the President told me where I will go.
