He added that arrivals of Chinese tourists and investments from China are increasing.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have said in numerous occasions that we will continue to defend our sovereignty and sovereign rights when we discuss our territorial and maritime disputes with China while maximizing the benefits of our people by promoting economic and other relations with China in which there are no contentious issues between us,\u201d the Palace official said.<\/p>\n<p>University of the Philippines (UP) Institute for Maritime Affairs and Law of the Sea director Jay Batongbacal on Saturday warned that the nation has given \u201ctoo much, too early, and too soon\u201d in maintaining harmonious relationship with China, saying that the Red Dragon is \u201cgaining too much from our softness\u201d on the territorial dispute.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is correct to try to make good relations but it should not come at the cost of our long-term interests.
