MANILA\u00a0— Blackwater has complicated the PBA Philippine Cup quarterfinal race in a tough way after upsetting San Miguel, 106-96, at the resumption of the elimination round at the Cuneta Astrodome in Pasay City Friday night.<\/p>\n

The Elite slowly but surely chipped away the Beermen’s early lead and completed the giant slaying on a 34-point fourth-quarter explosion.<\/p>\n

Mike DiGregorio led Blackwater, which snapped a four-game slide and stayed alive in the playoff race at 3-5, with 26 points, three rebounds, and five assists, while Poy Erram added 24 points, 18 rebounds, three assists, four blocks, and two steals.<\/p>\n

Arwind Santos tallied 22 points, nine boards, two dimes, two swipes, and two rejections for SMB, which fell to a three-way tie for first place at 6-2.<\/p>\n

The team has now lost its past three games.<\/p>\n
