{"id":1516,"date":"2014-02-06T06:43:10","date_gmt":"2014-02-06T14:43:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/66.147.244.209\/~canadiu3\/?p=1516"},"modified":"2014-02-06T06:43:10","modified_gmt":"2014-02-06T14:43:10","slug":"roma-has-2-sections-of-stadium-closed-for-2-matches-after-territorial-chants-by-fans","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/2014\/02\/06\/roma-has-2-sections-of-stadium-closed-for-2-matches-after-territorial-chants-by-fans\/","title":{"rendered":"Roma has 2 sections of stadium closed for 2 matches after territorial chants by fans"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ROME\u2014Roma has had two sections of its stadium closed for two matches following anti-Neapolitan chants by the clubs\u2019 fans.<\/p>\n<p>The sections behind both goals, where the ultras sit, will be closed for Roma\u2019s Serie A matches against Sampdoria and Inter Milan.<\/p>\n<p>The sentence was announced Thursday after territorial chants of a discriminatory nature against Naples were heard during Roma\u2019s victory over Napoli in the first leg of their Italian Cup semifinal the previous weekend.<\/p>\n<p>Roma had been given a suspended sentence of a one-match ban back in October following insulting chants in its league match against Napoli.<\/p>\n<p>Torino and both Milan clubs were also handed suspended sentences at the time.<\/p>\n<p>Roma is second in the Italian league, nine points behind Juventus, which has played a game more.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ROME\u2014Roma has had two sections of its stadium closed for two matches following anti-Neapolitan chants by the clubs\u2019 fans.
