{"id":149490,"date":"2018-01-29T02:41:20","date_gmt":"2018-01-29T07:41:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/?p=149490"},"modified":"2018-01-29T02:41:20","modified_gmt":"2018-01-29T07:41:20","slug":"ontarios-human-capital-priorities-stream-issues-new-invitations-to-express-entry-candidates","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/2018\/01\/29\/ontarios-human-capital-priorities-stream-issues-new-invitations-to-express-entry-candidates\/","title":{"rendered":"Ontario\u2019s Human Capital Priorities Stream issues new invitations to Express Entry candidates"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Second selection round this week for Ontario&#8217;s popular Express Entry-aligned immigration stream<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_149491\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-149491\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/Optimized-iStock-toronto2-300x221.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-149491\" src=\"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/Optimized-iStock-toronto2-300x221.jpg\" alt=\"Photo: CIC News\" width=\"300\" height=\"221\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-149491\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo: CIC News<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Ontario\u2019s Human Capital Priorities Stream has issued 380 new invitations to apply for provincial nomination to immigration candidates in the federal Express Entry pool.<\/p>\n<p>This is the second announcement this week of new Notifications of Interests, or NOIs, issued through the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.canadavisa.com\/ontario-express-entry-human-capital-priorities-stream.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Human Capital Priorities Stream<\/a>, which allows Ontario to search the federal\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.canadavisa.com\/express-entry.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Express Entry pool<\/a>\u00a0for eligible immigration candidates.<\/p>\n<p>Express Entry candidates who receive an NOI can apply for a provincial nomination by Ontario. If successful, they get an additional 600 points toward their\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.canadavisa.com\/comprehensive-ranking-system.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS)<\/a>\u00a0score, putting an invitation to apply for Canadian permanent residence well within reach.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.canadavisa.com\/ontario-provincial-nominee-program.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP)<\/a>\u00a0said the NOIs issued in the latest round went to candidates with CRS scores between 433 and 444 and who submitted their profiles to the Express Entry pool between January 1 and January 25, 2018.<\/p>\n<p>The minimum CRS score in this latest round, 433, was seven points lower than the minimum CRS score in the NOI round\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cicnews.com\/2018\/01\/ontarios-express-entry-aligned-human-capital-priorities-stream-issues-new-nois-0110112.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">that took place January 23<\/a>, in which 340 invitations were issued.<\/p>\n<p>In order to be eligible for Ontario\u2019s Human Capital Priorities Stream, Express Entry candidates must have a CRS score of at least 400 points, among other\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.canadavisa.com\/ontario-express-entry-human-capital-priorities-stream.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">eligibility criteria<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The latest Ontario draw follows an\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cicnews.com\/2018\/01\/new-express-entry-draw-january-24-0110093.html#gs.Z6NO=qU\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Express Entry round of invitations<\/a>\u00a0that took place\u00a0an January 24 in which 2,750 candidates with a minimum CRS score of 444 were issued an Invitation to Apply (ITA).<\/p>\n<p>The Human Capital Priorities Stream was one of the OINP\u2019s most active in 2017, opening on numerous occasions over the course of the year. The OINP said it will continue to issue NOIs on a regular basis.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s exciting to see such a busy week in the province of Ontario. In two rounds, we\u2019ve seen more than 700 Express Entry candidates receive NOIs and a CRS minimum that dropped by seven points,\u201d said Attorney David Cohen,\u00a0senior partner with the Canadian immigration law firm Campbell, Cohen. \u201cAdded to that is the level of detail that Ontario is now providing about its invitation rounds.
