Moore, CC BY-SA 4.0)<\/a><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>HOLLYWOOD, Calif.\u2014 Another series inspired by Canadian author Margaret Atwood&#8217;s writing is on the horizon.<\/p>\n<p>Anonymous Content and Paramount Television say they&#8217;ve acquired the rights to develop a series based on Atwood&#8217;s dystopic trilogy \u201cOryx and Crake,\u201d \u201cThe Year of the Flood\u201d and \u201cMaddAddam.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The \u201cMaddAddam\u201d trilogy features a small group of survivors reeling from a global pandemic that has wiped out most of humanity.<\/p>\n<p>The executive producers will come from Anonymous Content as well as Rock Paper Scissors\u00a0Entertainment.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement, Atwood says she&#8217;s happy with the producers&#8217; vision and the \u201cstunning visual presentation they put together.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Atwood&#8217;s work has been a hit on TV lately, with much awards love for adaptations of \u201cThe Handmaid&#8217;s Tale\u201d and critical accolades for \u201cAlias Grace.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Anonymous Content&#8217;s David Kanter and Bard Dorros said the \u201cMaddAddam\u201d trilogy presents \u201cfascinating opportunities to dramatize the wildest vision of the future ever shown on television.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Amy Powell, president of Paramount TV, added that Atwood&#8217;s \u201cunique and singular literary voice speaks to the greater issues facing our current climate and resonates with fans worldwide; the &#8216;MaddAddam&#8217; Trilogy is no exception.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese stories are perfectly suited for portrayal on television, and we are thrilled to once again bring a literary masterpiece to life.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>HOLLYWOOD, Calif.\u2014 Another series inspired by Canadian author Margaret Atwood&#8217;s writing is on the horizon.
