Fifteen years of friendship in an \u2018open book\u2019 world like showbiz will always attract rumors and hearsays of a \u2018beyond friendship\u2019 kind of relationship between two stars. For Jake Cuenca and Alessandra \u201cAlex\u201d de Rossi, it looks like the rumors are actually true.<\/p>\n

In a Magandang Buhay guesting on Tuesday, Jake confessed that he did try to pursue Alessandra.<\/p>\n

\u201cAaminin ko noong <\/em>first year ko sa<\/em> showbiz\u2026 kakapasok ko lang ng<\/em> show na \u2018yon at kinapalan ko ang mukha ko na liligawan ko si<\/em> Alessandra de Rossi (I admit during my first year in showbiz\u2026I just entered the show that time when I decided to be brave and court Alessandra de Rossi),\u201d the actor said.<\/p>\n

Alessandra who was laughing beside him, said in jest, \u201cHowever, tatlo kaming nililigawan. Tatlo \u2018yon <\/em>(three of us were being courted. There were three).\u201d<\/p>\n

On a serious note though, Alessandra said that it was more of a personal preference. \u201cAko talaga may<\/em> issue ako<\/em> sa younger [guys], kahit nga<\/em> one year younger, kahit<\/em> months lang<\/em> younger sa akin talagang hindi ko<\/em> type (I really have an issue with younger guys, even those one year younger, or younger than me just by months, they are not really my type),\u201d she revealed.<\/p>\n

\u201cMagkapatid kami nito <\/em>(We are really like siblings),\u201d she said, then added, \u201cAlam mo si<\/em> \u00a0(You know), Jake parang anak ko na ito <\/em>(is like my son). As in baby brother talaga ang tingin ko sa kanya <\/em>(I really treat him as my baby brother).\u201d<\/p>\n

Looking back to their memories, they shared one that will forever be etched in their years of friendship.<\/p>\n

\u201cTumawag ako sabi ko<\/em>, \u2018Alex, may kasamang babae \u2018yung<\/em> boyfriend mo.\u2019 Sabi niya, \u2018Sinong babae \u2018yan?\u2019 [Sabi ko,] \u2018yung<\/em> girlfriend ko. At ginamit pa \u2018yung kotse mo para sunduin \u2018yung<\/em> girlfriend ko <\/em>(I called her, I said, \u2018Alex, your boyfriend is with another woman.\u2019 She said, \u2018Who is that woman?\u2019 I said, \u2018My girlfriend. And he even used your car to fetch my girlfriend),\u2019\u201d Jake narrated.<\/p>\n

While they are now just laughing at that whole tangled relationship, Jake said that 33-year-old actress is his best friend and he knew it was the right thing to do.<\/p>\n

Rumors of the Jake wooing Alessandra have been surfacing nine years ago, when the teleserye \u201cTayong Dalawa\u201d starring Kim Chiu and Gerald Anderson was still airing as they are part of the cast. In an article by ABS-CBN News in 2009, Alessandra has denied the rumors insisting that Jake was her baby brother even when they were still in the other network.<\/p>\n

The two also worked in the teleserye \u201cGreen Rose\u201d in 2011 starring Jericho Rosales and Anne Curtis.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
