{"id":147571,"date":"2018-01-19T03:35:21","date_gmt":"2018-01-19T08:35:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/?p=147571"},"modified":"2018-01-19T03:35:21","modified_gmt":"2018-01-19T08:35:21","slug":"duque-defends-aquino-admin-over-dengue-vaccine-mess","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/2018\/01\/19\/duque-defends-aquino-admin-over-dengue-vaccine-mess\/","title":{"rendered":"Duque defends Aquino admin over Dengue vaccine mess"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Aquino administration\u2019s move to use Dengvaxia in its dengue vaccination program was an outcome of a wrong recommendation, Health Secretary Francisco Duque III said on Friday at the Provincial Dengue Summit in the City of San Fernando in Pampanga.<\/p>\n<p>Duque was quoted as saying in a Balitanghali \u2018s report, \u201cI think this was rushed by the previous administration, they did not wish for it to bring harm, and that President Aquino was given a wrong advisory.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>However, Duque added that if he was the health chief during that time, he would not have implemented the vaccination program to the 830,000 public school students.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI always say that if I am the secretary of the DOH before, I would not allow vaccinating such large number of students. It is always good to err on the side of caution.
