Award-winning Filipino director Dan Villegas broke his silence regarding his partner and fellow filmmaker Antoinette \u201cTonet\u201d Jadaone\u2019s blogpost where she lamented the repeated delays of her film shoots with real-life and onscreen pair James Reid and Nadine Lustre.<\/p>\n

Speaking with reporters after a press conference for his film \u201cChanging Partners,\u201d Dan was asked for a comment to Antoinette\u2019s frustration over her troubled project.<\/p>\n

\u201cSabi ko kay <\/em>Tonette, \u2018Sana hindi mo pinost. Ganyan na-pi-<\/em>feel mo, e, OK lang.\u2019 Siyempre,<\/em> imagine-in niyo rin \u2018yung<\/em> pressure for a director (I told Tonette \u2018I wish you didn\u2019t post it. If you\u2019re feeling that way, it\u2019s okay.\u2019 Of course, imagine the pressure for a director),\u201d Dan said in a video interview posted by entertainment columnist Roldan Castro on his YouTube channel.<\/p>\n

On Monday, Antoinette published a cryptic blog about a troubled project, sparking speculation online as to the \u201cheartbreaking\u201d reasons behind the delay of her film.<\/p>\n

\u201cFilming for #foolishmovie is becoming erratic,\u201d she wrote. \u201cSayang, andun na ang<\/em> momentum eh <\/em>(the momentum is there). More and more shooting days cancelled \u2013 some reasons more heartbreaking than others, so heartbreaking they make me cry. Or maybe I am just being overly dramatic, or that\u2019s just really how I value pelikula.\u201d<\/p>\n

Antoinette said she\u2019s just worried, hoping that she sustain her excitement for as long as she can.<\/p>\n

\u201cI know myself too well \u2013 I work better when I am excited, when I am inspired. Lord, grant me patience. I pray for this movie. I pray for myself too. Take it easy,<\/em>\u201d she added.<\/p>\n

Dan, who has directed seven movies since 2014 and three television drama since 2015, said that any filmmaker would actually feel the same way if their project was in the same shoes with Antoinette\u2019s.<\/p>\n

\u201cKung ako man ang<\/em> director noon, hindi matutuloy \u2018yung<\/em> [shoot], nakabuwelo ka na,<\/em> synch na kayo ng <\/em>actors mo,<\/em> synch na kayo ng<\/em> staff mo. Titingnan mo,<\/em> you\u2019re shooting great footage, noong<\/em> ini-<\/em>edit mo siya,<\/em> it\u2019s working, ta\u2019s biglang tigil.<\/em> That\u2019s frustrating (if I were the director, and the shoot will not proceed when you\u2019re all geared up, you already synched with your actors and staff. You\u2019ll see, you\u2019re shooting great footage, when you\u2019re editing it, it\u2019s working and all of a sudden it stopped. That\u2019s frustrating),\u201d the filmmaker stressed.<\/p>\n

Dan sympathized the term his partner used in her blog in referring to the film\u2019s mishap, \u201cKung ako man \u2018yung<\/em> director noon,<\/em> heartbreaking iyon,<\/em> promise, na napa-<\/em>pack up ka sa<\/em> shooting (if I were the director, it\u2019s heartbreaking, promise, to see that you\u2019re packing up when you\u2019re supposed to have a shooting).\u201d<\/p>\n

The director said that Antoinette is \u201cvery frustrated\u201d and that he stands together with her.<\/p>\n

When asked about the speculations over the reason of the film\u2019s delay, Dan refused to give comments specifically on the celebrities, saying that he doesn\u2019t want to judge because, according to him, it is \u201cpoisoning the well.\u201d<\/p>\n

Nadine, in a seemingly response to the rumors about the film\u2019s situation, posted on Wednesday an Instagram story showing a spinal X-ray result and a list of illness.<\/p>\n
