http:\/\/www.bcda.gov.ph\/, Public Domain)<\/a><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>MANILA\u2014<\/strong>\u00a0Malacanang on Tuesday announced that the Bases Conversion Development Authority (BCDA) has remitted PHP5.22 billion to the Bureau of Treasury in 2017.<\/p>\n<p>Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said the BCDA remittance was the highest amount generated since 2012.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Bureau of Treasury noted that the BCDA remittance for 2017 is also higher than PHP3.93 billion in 2016,\u201d Roque said.<\/p>\n<p>Roque said the BCDA, as part of its mandate, would allocate PHP4.839 billion to the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) modernization program and other beneficiary agencies.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn addition, the BCDA has also raised a total of PHP36.6 billion for the purchase of the military equipment and maintenance of military facilities,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>BCDA is a government-owned and controlled corporation (GOCC) under the Office of the President.<\/p>\n<p>The BCDA Group is a prime mover of national development such as transformation of former military bases and properties into premier centers of economic growth.<\/p>\n<p>Some of the major BCDA projects include: Bonifacio Global City, New Clark City, Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway and Newport City or the Villamor Air Base.<\/p>\n<p>Recently, the BCDA and China Development Bank (CBD) signed a Memorandum of Understanding that will establish the framework for financing cooperation to speed up implementation of major infrastructure projects worth USD4.5 billion under the \u201cBuild, Build, Build\u201d program.<\/p>\n<p>Among the high impact infrastructure projects which stand to benefit from the financing cooperation are the New Clark City, the Subic-Clark Railway Project and the BGC-NAIA-Makati Bus Rapid Transit.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>MANILA\u2014\u00a0Malacanang on Tuesday announced that the Bases Conversion Development Authority (BCDA) has remitted PHP5.22 billion to the Bureau of Treasury &hellip;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":33,"featured_media":146810,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[95],"tags":[43560,43559,15129,31449],"class_list":["post-146809","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-news-ph","tag-bases-conversion-development-authority-bcda","tag-bcda-remits-p5-22-b-to-govt-in-2017","tag-bureau-of-treasury","tag-presidential-spokesperson-harry-roque","mauthors-jelly-musico","mauthors-philippine-news-agency"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/146809","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/33"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=146809"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/146809\/revisions"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/146810"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=146809"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=146809"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=146809"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
