Aljur Abrenica and Paulo Avelino, who were both graduates of the reality talent competition \u201cStarStruck\u201d 4<\/em>, were once said to have romantic relationship.<\/p>\n

This issue was recalled by the two actors in a joint interview on \u201cTonight With Boy Abunda\u201d aired on Wednesday, as they were promoting their first ever co-starring project in almost a decade, \u201cAsintado.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Aljur and Paulo share a common starting point in the entertainment world as they were batch mates in the talent search \u201cStarStruck.\u201d<\/em> Aljur brought home the title, while Paulo was a finalist in the show\u2019s 2006 edition.<\/p>\n

As both of them are now Kapamilya stars and sharing various interviews as co-stars, Aljur and Paulo can look back their beginner days more than 10 years ago.<\/p>\n

“Noong nakita ko si<\/em> Paulo, sabi ko <\/em>(When I first saw Paulo, I said), ‘Wow, this guy, dashing,'” Aljur said, recounting his first impression of Paulo.<\/p>\n

“Gwapo na si<\/em> Paulo noon. Kumbaga sa<\/em> competition, ito iyong makakalaban ko <\/em>(Paolo is handsome even before. Like in a competition, this is my contender),\u201d <\/em>he added.<\/p>\n

Paulo, when he was asked the same question, answered: \u201cTalented, dahil nakikita ko siya na nag-o-<\/em>audition, kumakanta. Nakikita mo, parang ang galing kumanta nito. Sana napunta na lang sa akin iyong<\/em> talent niya sa pagkanta <\/em>(Because I saw him having his audition, he was singing. You can see, this guy is a good singer. I wish I have his talent in singing).”<\/em><\/p>\n

Both actors laughed off a past rumor that they once had romantic ties with each other.<\/p>\n

“Ayoko na sanang alalahanin iyong mga pinagdaanan natin<\/em> (I don\u2019t want to remember what we had before),” Paulo jested to Aljur.<\/p>\n

“Meron ngang gano’n<\/em> [issue] (There was an issue),”<\/em> Aljur said. “Tinawanan lang namin ni <\/em>Paulo iyan <\/em>(Paulo and I just laughed it off).”<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cSabi nila, medyo malambot daw ako, na mukhang totoo naman… Siguro naging<\/em> close din talaga lahat ng mga ka-<\/em>batch namin, at siguro na <\/em>misinterpret lang ng mga tao <\/em>(They say I\u2019m effeminate, which is probably true\u2026 Maybe we\u2019re close with our batch mates, and maybe the public misinterpreted it),\u201d<\/em> Paulo added.<\/p>\n
