The camp of former Senator Bongbong Marcos on Tuesday denied having a hand in the supposed proposal for a compromise deal to settle their family\u2019s alleged ill-gotten wealth sequestered by the government.<\/p>\n

In a text message, lawyer and Bongbong\u2019s spokesperson Victor Rodriguez said that Lawyer Oliver Lozano, a known Marcos loyalist, is not affiliated or does not represent any member of the Marcos family or the estate of the late dictator Ferdinand Marcos.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Marcos family has no knowledge or information of that apparent exchange and service of document between Lozano and the office of Sec. Sal (Chief Presidential Legal Counsel Salvador Panelo),\u201d Rodriguez said.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs a point of information, Oliver Lozano does not represent any member of the Marcos family or the estate of\u00a0the late President Marcos,\u201d Rodriguez added.<\/p>\n

Panelo said his office had received the proposal from Lozano, proposing to the government a chunk of the Marcoses\u2019 wealth in exchange of the drop of all cases against the late dictator\u2019s kin.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe wrote our office and attached that draft. He has been submitting a lot of proposals and suggestions. Our office just acknowledges receipt of the same and thanks him for his suggestions,\u201d Panelo said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe document was sent to the office by Atty Oliver Lozano. Our office as a matter of courtesy and policy acknowledges receipt of any letter coming from any citizen. No action has been taken on Atty. Lozano’s proposal,\u201d Panelo added.<\/p>\n

Malaca\u00f1ang also claimed that the Duterte administration has not made any deal with the Marcoses, saying they only received the draft proposal of the compromise deal on the wealth of the late President\u2019s family.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere is no truth to the allegation that the government has reached a compromise agreement with the family of the late President Ferdinand Marcos,\u201d Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said in a statement.<\/p>\n

\u201cAtty. Oliver Lozano may have written to Malaca\u00f1an proposing the creation of a legal team that would study a compromise agreement with the Marcos family.
