MANILA, Philippines\u2014Model Kim Jones on Wednesday thanked her husband, actor Jericho Rosales, for standing by her decision to not bear a child yet, and explained why she is child-free.

\nJones\u2019s statement on her and Rosales\u2019s childless marriage came after an Instagram user questioned her womanhood for not getting pregnant.<\/p>\n

Rosales, a true gentleman, immediately came to his wife\u2019s defense and politely responded to the comment with, \u201c@joymillan1987 awww I don\u2019t think getting preggy and having babies is the only measure for being a woman\u2026 I love that my wife travels and works on her dreams. Makes me really proud. Have the best holiday season and peace and love to you from us.\u201d<\/p>\n

In an Instagram story on December 27, Jones thanked her husband for always having her back and mirroring her beliefs on womanhood.<\/p>\n

\u201cThank you, Jericho, for believing that a woman\u2019s worth and the measure of a \u201creal woman\u201d comes from a multitude of qualities,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd thank you for believing my [read: women’s] dreams are worth chasing, whatever they may be,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n

Jones also explained why she chose to stay married without kids.<\/p>\n

\u201cI, along with many other women I know, am constantly asked why I\u2019m still without child, sometimes benevolently, sometimes not. Often my response (or lack thereof when I tire of defending myself) is met with incredulity and scorn,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are all in a state of transition; we\u2019re all going through something,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n

Jones and Rosales were married in 2014.<\/p>\n

In a previous interview, Rosales said that their current priority as a married couple is to travel the world, something they think they won\u2019t be able to do if they have children.<\/p>\n

He added that he supports his wife\u2019s pursuit of creating a career for herself which necessitates her to be in different places at all times.<\/p>\n
