Burns, 65, suffered a serious head injury and died from his injuries on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>The taxi driver remained at the scene. Police still were investigating on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>An MTV spokeswoman said the network was deeply saddened to learn about the death of Burns, who created \u201cMTV Unplugged\u201d with Robert Small.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs co-creator of the beloved &#8216;Unplugged&#8217; franchise, his groundbreaking work continues to resonate with audiences around the world,\u201d MTV said in a statement. \u201cOur thoughts and prayers go out to his family and loved ones.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Small said Burns was \u201ca terrific human being.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe could make fun of people without making them feel bad,\u201d Small told the New York Post. \u201cHe just had a knack for making people happy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The wildly popular \u201cUnplugged\u201d debuted in 1989 at the height of MTV&#8217;s musical and cultural influence in America.
