{"id":142334,"date":"2017-12-27T04:53:45","date_gmt":"2017-12-27T09:53:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/?p=142334"},"modified":"2017-12-27T04:53:45","modified_gmt":"2017-12-27T09:53:45","slug":"ph-denies-plan-to-move-israel-embassy-to-jerusalem","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/2017\/12\/27\/ph-denies-plan-to-move-israel-embassy-to-jerusalem\/","title":{"rendered":"PH denies plan to move Israel embassy to Jerusalem"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Foreign Secretary Alan Peter Cayetano invalidated media reports in Israel that Philippines is one of the ten countries that is planning to relocate its embassy in Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, tagging the move as a &#8220;blind giant leap.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>After the news broke on an Israeli public radio, Cayetano clarified the Philippines\u2019 stand in a television interview.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTo be fair to Israel they haven\u2019t told or asked us to transfer our embassy,\u201d Cayetano told GMA News.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have communicated clearly to all our friends in the Middle East that there hasn\u2019t been any discussion or move to move our embassy from Tel Aviv,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>He also said that the Philippine government supports a peaceful resolution of conflict, and vowed that a thorough study will be conducted before making any moves.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are for peaceful resolution of conflict&#8230; In diplomacy, unless there is an urgent situation, you don\u2019t just take a blind giant leap. You study all of these. There\u2019s going to be a balancing act.
