{"id":141379,"date":"2017-12-22T08:51:40","date_gmt":"2017-12-22T13:51:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/?p=141379"},"modified":"2017-12-22T08:51:40","modified_gmt":"2017-12-22T13:51:40","slug":"roque-says-mrt-ride-not-a-pr-stunt","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/2017\/12\/22\/roque-says-mrt-ride-not-a-pr-stunt\/","title":{"rendered":"Roque says MRT ride not a PR stunt"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Firm in his intentions, Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque said on Thursday that him riding the Metro Rail Transit (MRT3) was not a PR stunt but a way for the palace to know the commuter\u2019s troubles in using MRT.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is important for the Palace to know the state of the MRT and that is the reason why we are here now,\u201d Roque told the media.<\/p>\n<p>He also said that it\u2019s not a PR stunt because he actually rides the MRT regularly.<\/p>\n<p>The presidential spokesperson had a comfortable ride from North Avenue to Taft Avenue station, but said it was expected since it is not a rush hour.<\/p>\n<p>He stressed that \u201cWe can imagine the struggle of our commuters especially on peak hours, queues are longer because there is a shortage of train coaches.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think we have sent a message that we know the pulse of our nation, the hardships of the commuters.
