Suing President Rodrigo Duterte for his alleged ill-gotten wealth can only be pursued upon the end of his term, says his chief legal counsel, Salvador Panelo.<\/p>\n

Using Senator Antonio Trillanes\u2019 plunder complaint as basis, the ombudsman\u2018s initiated an investigation into Duterte\u2019s alleged secret wealth, a step Panelo tagged as \u201cconstitutionally impermissible\u201d because the subject of probe were allegedly committed by Duterte before he took office as president.<\/p>\n
