There were 142 house members who approved while seven contradicted.<\/p>\n<p>The \u201cFilipino ID card\u201d will contain confidential information including the name, birth date, blood type, height, weight, and permanent address and it \u201cshall serve as the official government-issued identification document of a cardholder in dealing with national government agencies, local government units (LGUs), government-owned or controlled corporations (GOCCs), and government financial institutions (GFIs)\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The ID will also have security features that shall prevent tampering or forgery.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, under the bill, all Filipinos, 18 years old and above, both in the Philippines and abroad, are required to have the ID.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the Philippine Statistics Authority will be the one to work on the implementation of cards and to ensure the security of the system, in accordance with all applicable laws and policies.<\/p>\n<p><strong>(DAILY NEWS ROUND UP FOR 09\/ 09\/ 17)<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The House of Representatives passed a bill seeking to establish a national identification system.
