(<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/pnp.pio\/photos\/a.1838690949505486.1073742059.462115693829692\/1838691162838798\/?type=3&amp;theater\">Photo<\/a>: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/pnp.pio\/\">Philippine National Police\/Facebook<\/a>)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Director General Ronald \u201cBato\u201d Dela Rosa on Monday said there is nothing to fear about the nationwide expansion of martial law, but \u2018bad\u2019 people should be cautious.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;As I have said, <em>depende sa kanya<\/em> (President Rodrigo Duterte). <em>Desisyon niya &#8216;yan, hindi ko siya papangunahan<\/em>, it is dependent on his own determination. Anyway, <em>bakit, takot na takot ba kayo sa <\/em>martial law (It is his decision. I cannot preempt him. Anyway, why are you scared of martial law)?&#8221; Dela Rosa told reporters after their Christmas party inside Camp Crame.<\/p>\n<p>The PNP Chief uttered this statement after Congress approved the one-year extension of martial law in Mindanao, following the recommendation of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and the PNP.<\/p>\n<p>Dela Rosa said skeptics should go visit Mindanao and ask Mindanaoans themselves how they feel about the imposition of military rule before they oppose or be scared of it.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy neighbors, friends, relatives will say <em>wala namang pagbabago<\/em>. <em>Sa mga<\/em> peace-loving <em>people walang pagbabago kung may <\/em>martial law <em>o wala sa<\/em> (For peace-loving people, there is no change if there is or there is no martial law in) Mindanao. The same. <em>Pero sa mga masasamang tao malaki ang epekto sa kanila <\/em>(But for bad people, the effect is huge)<em>,\u201d<\/em> Dela Rosa said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTheir movements are restricted. Their <em>diskarte<\/em> (strategy) is limited <em>at karamihan sa kanila nagtatago<\/em>. <em>\u2018Yun ang epekto ng martial law sa<\/em> (Most of them were hiding.
