Wala iyan sa pangalan<\/em> (It is not in the name),\u201d Dela Rosa told reporters on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ll take in <em>\u2018yung kanyang<\/em> (his) suggestion, but what\u2019s in a name?\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>The PNP chief was referring to Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Director General Aaron Aquino\u2019s suggestion to drop the word \u2018Tokhang\u2019 as it has been associated with the bloody side of the administration campaign to eradicate illegal drugs.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor us <em>sa<\/em> (in) PDEA, I suggest there will be no more slogans, no more \u2018Tokhangs\u2019 no more \u2018Double Barrels,\u2019 just plain buy-bust operations. Simple <em>lang naman \u2018yan eh <\/em>(It is really that simple),\u201d Aquino told reporters on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTokhang is just to appeal to the drug personality to surrender. That\u2019s it. <em>Pero ang<\/em> connotation <em>ng<\/em> Tokhang <em>sa karamihan ng masa<\/em> is killing (But the connotation of Tokhang to most of the mass is killing),\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n<p>For Aquino, the term is misleading and is remembered for the casualties of the drug war instead of its purpose. He, however, said that the campaign itself is great.<\/p>\n<p>However, Dela Rosa said that the issue of the campaign name is the \u201cleast of his concern.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;<em>Magbabago ka ng pangalan <\/em>(You will change the name), you are trying to deodorize your campaign to make it appear more palatable to the critics. <em>Hahanapan ka pa rin ng butas d&#8217;yan, gagawan ka ng kuwento <\/em>(They will still look for holes, and they will make up stories),\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Oplan Tokhang is the operation in which the police knocks on doors and asks drug criminals to surrender.
