{"id":138546,"date":"2017-12-12T04:42:27","date_gmt":"2017-12-12T09:42:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/?p=138546"},"modified":"2017-12-12T04:42:27","modified_gmt":"2017-12-12T09:42:27","slug":"may-slams-trump-over-recent-charlotesville-comment","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/2017\/12\/12\/may-slams-trump-over-recent-charlotesville-comment\/","title":{"rendered":"May slams Trump over recent Charlotesville comment"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>US President Donald Trump\u2019s remarks had brought in another critic.<\/p>\n<p>British Prime Minister Theresa May on Wednesday condemned Trump&#8217;s recent comments on the deadly encounter between white supremacists and counter-demonstrators in Charlottesville, Virginia.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think there is blame on both sides,&#8221; Trump said on Tuesday in a press conference in New York.<\/p>\n<p>The UK leader opposed Trump&#8217;s statement, saying there was &#8220;no equivalence between those who profound fascist views and those who oppose them.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Though May did not mention Trump\u2019s name in her comments, she cited that &#8220;it is important for all those in positions of responsibility to condemn far-right views wherever we hear them.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Senior politician and Scottish Conservatives leader Ruth Davidson also lambasted the US president.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">In a tweet, Davidson said, &#8220;The President of the United States has just turned his face to the world to defend Nazis, fascists and racists.
