Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Ronald \u201cBato\u201d Dela Rosa will be filling a position he dubbed as \u201cthe most challenging\u201d role in the administration.<\/p>\n

Dela Rosa, who will be reaching his mandatory retirement age of 56 on January 21, will not be resting yet after revealing on Tuesday the President\u2019s promise.<\/p>\n

\u201cEwan ko, basta sinabihan ako ni Presidente, kung anong pupuntahan ko. Pero napakahirap na trabaho<\/em>, the most challenging na trabaho sa buong gobyerno<\/em> (I don\u2019t know but the President told me where I will go. But it is a really difficult job, the most challenging job in the government),\u201d Dela Rosa told the media.<\/p>\n

Echoing President Rodrigo Duterte\u2019s words in their conversation, he said, \u201c\u2019Where everyone failed, I expect you to succeed.\u201d<\/p>\n

The outgoing PNP chief even asked the media to play a game guessing what this \u201cchallenging\u201d job is.<\/p>\n

\u201cNapakabigat na trabaho niyan. Sige lang,<\/em> imagine-in niyo na lang ano \u2018yung pinakamahirap na trabaho. Napakahirap<\/em> (It is a really heavy responsibility. Go ahead, just imagine what this really difficult job is. It is really difficult),\u201d Dela Rosa emphasized, but did not really reveal what this post will be.<\/p>\n

Dela Rosa also narrated that every time that he and Duterte met, the President mentioned how this agency had another problem again and again, which is why he kept on saying that it was a difficult job.<\/p>\n

In spite of this, Dela Rosa said that he is willing to accept the appointment if ever the President officially asks him, since he does not \u201crun away from challenges.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cLalong-lalo na \u2018yung magbigay sa\u2019kin ng<\/em> challenge ay \u2018yung tao na pinakarespetado [ko] <\/em>(Especially if the person who gave me the challenge is the one I respect the most). Talagang<\/em> I will take on the challenge,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cHindi ko siya ipapahiya<\/em> (I will not shame him),\u201d Dela Rosa added.<\/p>\n

He also chose to keep his mouth shut on whether Deputy General Ramon Apolinario will replace his PNP post or not.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
