{"id":138023,"date":"2017-12-11T01:18:50","date_gmt":"2017-12-11T06:18:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/?p=138023"},"modified":"2017-12-11T21:31:20","modified_gmt":"2017-12-12T02:31:20","slug":"ex-health-secretary-refutes-allegations-of-corruption-in-dengvaxia-purchase","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/2017\/12\/11\/ex-health-secretary-refutes-allegations-of-corruption-in-dengvaxia-purchase\/","title":{"rendered":"Ex-health secretary refutes allegations of corruption in Dengvaxia purchase"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Negating claims of corruption and conspiracy, Former Health Secretary Janette Garin said on Monday that there was no \u201cmidnight deal\u201d in the procurement of the multi-billion-peso worth Dengvaxia vaccines from French pharmaceutical giant, Sanofi Pasteur.<\/p>\n<p>This after she received a lot of criticisms including one from Senator Richard Gordon who said on Sunday that there are very strong signs that a conspiracy transpired.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere is no corruption, there is no such goal to speed up because Dengue has long been discussed,\u201d Garin said in a press conference.<\/p>\n<p>She added that the government, which was then under the Aquino administration, strictly followed the procurement process.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The documents will show that it is a long process. Talks started in 2010. And was strengthened in 2012&#8230; It&#8217;s not a midnight deal.
