He wanted me to write the song “Ikaw” in Mandarin),” Yeng was quoted in a Manila Bulletin report.

Yeng had her interview at the media huddle for the first ever Fil-Chi star concert named “Nice To meet You” which will happen on January 17, 2018, 8 o’ clock in the evening at Mall of Asia Arena. The singer-songwriter will be joined by Chinese artists G.E.M., Della Wu, Chief (Cha o Chuan) and Da Zhuang.

This event is produced by Philippine Dragon Media Network (PDMN).

Aside from the Chinese artists, Kapamilya actress Kim Chiu will also be one of the performers.

According to Yeng, singing her song in a different language is not an easy thing to do.

“Mahirap pong aralin ang Mandarin. Ang pronunciation nila ay iba talaga. She added that sometimes she’s hoping for it although she wasn’t expecting something like this to happen.

“Tayong mga Pilipino, bukod sa nakakapag-perform tayo sa Pilipinas (ay) gusto rin nating na nakakapag-perform para sa ibang lahi. In the upcoming “Nice To Meet You” concert. Yeng disclosed that there will be no collaborations with any of the Chinese performers.
