(Photo by Robert Vi\u00f1as\/Rodolfo Manabat\/Malacanang Photo Bureau)\" width=\"846\" height=\"577\" srcset=\"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/Sonny-Coloma.jpg 846w, https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/Sonny-Coloma-300x204.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 846px) 100vw, 846px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-9617\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Presidential Communications Operations Office Secretary Herminio Coloma Jr. (Photo by Robert Vi\u00f1as\/Rodolfo Manabat\/Malacanang Photo Bureau)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>MANILA &#8212; The only campaign where government resources are being used is for the campaign to boost the country\u2019s economic growth, a Malacanang official said on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>Presidential Communications Operations Office Secretary Herminio Coloma Jr., in a Palace media briefing, made the statement in reaction to allegations that the government was using funds to campaign for the administration\u2019s standard bearer for the 2016 presidential elections.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe government\u2019s resources are being used in the campaign to ensure sustainable and long-term economic growth, as well as inclusive growth, in accordance with the objectives of the Philippine Development Plan (PDP),\u201d Coloma said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou can check against the updated Philippine Development Plan matrix and all of the projects are aligned with the main thrust of the PDP,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>The PDP outlines the government\u2019s five major guide posts: Anti-Corruption\/Transparent, Accountable and Participatory Governance; Poverty Reduction and Empowerment of the Poor and Vulnerable; Rapid, Inclusive and Sustained Economic Growth; Just and Lasting Peace and the Rule of Law; and Integrity of the Environment and Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation.<\/p>\n<p>Coloma further said that in his opinion, the country has never seen a more open and transparent government like today, because of the people\u2019s clamor for openness and transparency.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Coloma noted that the Aquino administration never took credit from any past administration\u2019s contributions to the country\u2019s economic growth, contrary to what critics claimed.<\/p>\n<p>Critics reportedly said that projects under the current administration were merely \u201ccontinuations\u201d of projects in previous administrations.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are not taking the credit away from anyone.
