BALER, Aurora\u2014Floods spawned by tropical storm “Ramil”\u00a0 destroyed more than PHP1-million worth of agricultural crops in this capital town of Aurora.<\/p>\n

Gabriel Llave, chief of the Municipal Disaster risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO), said floodwaters\u00a0 destroyed some PHP1,028,498 worth of rice crops on a 21.5-hectare farm lands in the villages of Reserva, Pingit, Buhangin and Calabuanan (Setan).<\/p>\n

Llave said torrential rains due to tropical storm Ramil caused 2 \u00bd feet deep floods in the said areas.<\/p>\n

He added that water level of rivers and creeks also rose up to more than two feet during All Saints Day.<\/p>\n

In Sitio Baclaran, Barangay Suklayin, the floodwater rose up to hip-level Thursday.<\/p>\n

Although the floodwater already subsided in some parts here, Llave advised fishermen not to go fishing due t cloudly skies with occasional light rains. (PNA)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
