(Photo: Philippine News Agency)\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" srcset=\"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/roxas-boulevard.jpg 800w, https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/roxas-boulevard-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/roxas-boulevard-768x512.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-102431\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">FILE: On days with full lockdown schedule, only pedestrians and vehicles with ASEAN IDs and decals will be allowed to pass while the general public will be denied access to these routes. <a href=\"http:\/\/58.71.118.44\/\/images\/roxas-boulevard.jpg\">(Photo: Philippine News Agency)<\/a>\u00a0<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>MANILA\u2014<\/strong>\u00a0The government will implement a lockdown in some parts of Metro Manila to avoid traffic congestion during the country\u2019s hosting of the 31<sup>st<\/sup>\u00a0Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Summit.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement, Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Officer in Charge Catalino Cuy, who is also the concurrent chairperson of the Asean Committee on Security, Peace and Order, Emergency Preparedness and Response, urged motorists and commuters to refrain from passing through the following areas:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>November 8 (12:01 a.m. onwards) \u2013 Partial lockdown of CCP Complex, Pasay City<\/li>\n<li>November 11 (10:00 p.m. onwards) \u2013 Complete lockdown of SMX-MAAX Block, Pasay City<\/li>\n<li>November 12 (12:01 a.m. onwards) \u2013 Complete lockdown of CCP Complex, Pasay City<\/li>\n<li>November 13 (12:01 a.m. onwards) \u2013 Total lockdown of Roxas Boulevard starting from Padre Burgos Ave. to Buendia Ave., Manila<\/li>\n<li>November 13 (12:01 a.m. onwards) \u2013 Partial lifting of lockdown at SMX-MAAX Block, Pasay City<\/li>\n<li>November 13 (12:00 noon onwards) \u2013 Lifting of lockdown for Roxas Blvd. (Padre Burgos Ave. to Buendia Ave., Manila)<\/li>\n<li>November 14 \u2013 Continuous lockdown of CCP Complex, Pasay City<\/li>\n<li>November 15 (12:00 noon onwards) \u2013 Partial lifting of lockdown for CCP Complex, Pasay City<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>During the partial lockdown period, pedestrians and vehicles without ASEAN IDs and decals are allowed to enter the designated routes only if they pass through the vehicle and pedestrian security areas.<\/p>\n<p>On days with full lockdown schedule, only pedestrians and vehicles with ASEAN IDs and decals will be allowed to pass while the general public will be denied access to these routes.<\/p>\n<p>Cuy advises motorists to steer clear of the lockdown areas in order that they will not be trapped in case there is a passing convoy.<\/p>\n<p>The MMDA earlier said a modified stop and go scheme will be enforced along the routes of the convoy.
