The result is down by 8 percentage points from 25 percent in the June survey.F<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, 45 percent of Filipinos were still undecided on the issue.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis brings the net opinion about the truthfulness of the police to a significant -20. This compares with the June 2017 survey, where 25% believed the police, 45% were undecided, and 28% did not believe the police, or a net balance of opinion of only -3,\u201d the SWS said.<\/p>\n<p>Net opinion about the truthfulness of the police was lowest in Metro Manila at -34, followed by Balance Luzon at -31, Visayas at -15, and Mindanao at +3, the survey added.<\/p>\n<p>Despite this, majority of Filipinos said they were satisfied with the performance of President Rodrigo Duterte and his administration, according to the survey.<\/p>\n<p>Among the respondents who said that \u201cnanlaban\u201d claims are lie, 52 percent said they were satisfied with Duterte\u2019s performance, 37 percent were dissatisfied, and 11 percent were undecided<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, 56 percent of the respondents, who believed that policemen are \u201cdefinitely not telling the truth\u201d, said they were satisfied with the government\u2019s performance while 25 percent were dissatisfied.<\/p>\n<p>The survey used face-to-face interviews of 1,500 adults nationwide and asked this question:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSa kampanya ng gobyerno laban sa illegal na droga, ang kapulisan po ba ay: Talagang nagsasabi ng totoo; Malamang nagsasabi ng totoo; Hindi tiyak kung nagsasabi ng totoo o hindi; Malamang hindi nagsasabi ng totoo; Talagang hindi nagsasabi ng totoo na ang napapatay nilang suspect ay talagang nanlaban sa kanila?\u201d [In the government\u2019s campaign against illegal drugs, the police are: Definitely telling the truth; Probably telling the truth; Undecided if telling the truth or not; Probably not telling the truth; Definitely not telling the truth that the suspects they killed really resisted them?&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p>The SWS added the survey had a sampling error margin of \u00b13 percent for national percentages, \u00b14 percent for Balance Luzon, and \u00b16 percent each for Metro Manila, the Visayas and Mindanao.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>More Filipinos believed that \u201cnanlaban\u201d claims are lies, according to the latest Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey.
