Marco Rubio <em>kahit pa sinabi na niya mismo na<\/em> PH-US (United States) alliance, corruption and human rights situation <em>ang pinag-usapan namin <\/em>[Some claim that I betrayed the country just because I talked with Senator Marco Rubio even though he already said that we discussed PH-US alliance, corruption and human rights situation],\u201d Trillanes said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>Ano naman ngayon ang tawag sa mga<\/em> protector <em>ng isang presidenteng pumatay at nagpapatay ng mga Pilipino, mga bayani? Pwede ba, umayos kayo<\/em> (Then what do you call the protectors of a president who kill and order the killing of Filipinos? Heroes? Please give me a break)!\u201d Trillanes added.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In an interview with DZMM, Presidential Communications Office (PCOO) Secretary Martin Andanar, when asked Trillanes should be charged with treason, said, &#8220;We have to study this first. It&#8217;s hard to make hasty pronouncements.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Because of his trip to the US, the Senator made headlines last week, earning statements from the Senate President and from Malaca\u00f1ang as well.<\/p>\n<p>Senator Aquilino Pimentel denied knowing Trillanes\u2019 motive and commented that promoting the country\u2019s best interest should be practiced. \u201cI hope no one else is wishing, or worse, working for \u2018bad\u2019 relations between PH and other countries like US and EU (European Union) members, he said.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Presidential Spokesman Ernesto Abella, on the other hand, said, \u201cWe do hope the correct information is given and not biased information designed to adversely affect Philippines-US relations.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>(Read: <a href=\"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/2017\/10\/19\/palace-hopes-trillanes-gives-unbiased-info-on-us-trip\/\">Palace hopes Trillanes gives \u2018unbiased info\u2019 on US trip<\/a>)<\/p>\n<p>Rubio, in a tweet, confirmed that he met with Trillanes to discuss the two countries\u2019 ties and situation.
