Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) will have another staunch supporter of President Rodrigo Duterte in the Palace apart from Assistant Secretary Margaux \u201cMocha\u201d Uson.<\/p>\n

Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Officer-in-Charge (OIC) Emmanuel Leyco told the media in a text message on Wednesday that DSWD Assistant Secretary Lorraine Badoy will join the PCOO as undersecretary for new media and spokesperson.<\/p>\n

While PCOO Secretary Martin Andanar did not give a statement and chose to not \u2018preempt\u2019 the President\u2019s announcement, Leyco said that it was Badoy who informed him of the offer.<\/p>\n

\u201cASec Badoy has informed me as OIC-Secretary at DSWD of this development earlier and is now in the process of completing and turning over her responsibilities, which is expected to last until the end of the month,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Leyco added, \u201cI thank ASec Badoy for her contributions to DSWD and I am confident that she will be able to bring her effectiveness as a communicator to her new assignment as USec at PCOO.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hours before the confirmation, Badoy was already congratulated on social media by various supporters for getting her new position.<\/p>\n

In its website on February, DSWD announced Badoy, a doctor of dermatology, will join their department. \u201cShe will be the focal person of the Office of the Secretary in implementing the medicine assistance to drug dependents undergoing rehabilitation,\u201d former DSWD Secretary Judy Taguiwalo said.<\/p>\n

Just like Uson, Badoy is maintaining an active online presence as a blogger and a staunch defender of Duterte.<\/p>\n

Just recently, netizens slammed Badoy for her \u2018low-blow\u2019 remarks against Jover Laurio, the blogger of \u201cPinoy Ako Blog\u201d when the dermatologist insulted Laurio\u2019s appearance.<\/p>\n

The blogger-turned-undersecretary also made headlines when she sarcastically advised the European Union (EU) to \u2018just watch child pornography since they are good at it.\u2019 This was her defense for the President as the EU has\u00a0been condemning the\u00a0number of killings under the Duterte administration.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
