Thousands of educators from across the country attended the event organized by the Department of Education (DepEd).<\/p>\n<p>In a statement Friday, TESDA Director General Guiling Mamondiong commended Filipino teachers for their dedication and contributions in honing the skills of their students.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, teachers do not just teach basic skills, but also teach their students to think critically.<\/p>\n<p>During the National Teachers&#8217; Month (September 5 to October 5) launch at the DepEd Central Office, Education chief Leonor Briones noted that teachers should also encourage students to deal with things and solve their problems.<\/p>\n<p>Also, Briones encouraged teachers to be an example to their students, and emphasized that as teachers, they don&#8217;t just tell students what to do, but ensure that they serve as leaders setting a good example.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We have to be creative, think out-of-the-box. If we want to encourage them to learn, we must learn continuously.
