MARCELINO PASCUA\/PRESIDENTIAL PHOTO<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>President Rodrigo Duterte on Thursday said he fired two Malaca\u00f1ang employees for supposed corrupt practices and for \u2018using their influence.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>In a speech at the Agrilink, Food Link, Aqualink 2017 at the World Trade Center in Pasay City before he leaves for Brunei, Duterte made the admission as he echoed his vow to eradicate corruption in the government.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I promised you corruption. I will stop it. I will stop it. I just fired two\u2026 two employees from Malaca\u00f1an for making a tool and suggesting that, you know, they were suggesting,&#8221; Duterte revealed.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Yesterday\u2026 I said, talk &#8212; I fired Cabinet members at this early,&#8221; the president added.<\/p>\n<p>In an interview\u00a0uploaded to Presidential Communications Assistant Secretary Mocha Uson\u2019s Facebook page on Friday morning, the president reiterated this statement: \u201cI even fired today, I signed, firing two people from Malaca\u00f1ang for using their influence\u2026<em>Empleyado diyan tapos kung anu-anong pinagsasabi sa labas, na malakas<\/em> [They are Malaca\u00f1ang employees and yet they look arrogant saying they have connections inside]. I hate that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have fired so many. I just haven&#8217;t announced in fairness to the family. Some of them have children who are doctors, lawyers.
