MANILA — The Philippine National Police (PNP) is doing everything in its authority to reduce, if not eliminate, the number of police officers involved in the illegal narcotics trade.<\/p>\n

This was stressed by PNP Director General Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa during an ambush interview in Camp Crame, Quezon City Monday.<\/p>\n

And while the problem is difficult to resolve, he said that they are doing their best to resolve the issue head-on.<\/p>\n

This is proven by operations conducted by the Counter-Intelligence Task Force against rogue police officers everynow and then.<\/p>\n

“At least ‘di tayo nagbibingi-bingihan<\/em>\u00a0(we are not acting deaf), we address the problem head-on,” the PNP chief stressed.<\/p>\n

Earlier, President Rodrigo Duterte said around 9,000 police officers are implicated in the illegal drugs trade.<\/p>\n
