If they are in public office, they must NOT use the power of their office to\u00a0obstruct the pursuit of truth,&#8221; CBCP president Archbishop Socrates Villegas, said in a\u00a0statement.<\/p>\n<p>Villegas is also urging the Office of the Ombudsman to perform its task in investigating\u00a0and prosecuting those liable saying that \u201cthe judiciary is the proper venue to bring out\u00a0justice\u201d and that \u201cjustice delayed is justice denied.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>He also added that \u201cWhat is stolen must be returned\u201d and that \u201cthe good name\u00a0destroyed must be repaired.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Along with the call on politicians to step out and admit their wrongdoings, CBCP also\u00a0urges the catholic faithful to offer the prayer an extra rosary from May 31 Feast of the\u00a0Visitation until August 15, Solemnity of the Assumption, requesting the conversion of the\u00a0culprits in the pork barrel scam.<\/p>\n<p>Villegas also added that the prayer of the rosary is also offered for the courage of the\u00a0witnesses and the healing of the country.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I encourage our youth and children to receive Holy Communion frequently during these\u00a0days of prayer and offer prayers for the culprits, the witnesses and our government.
