Oops… Elder sister Celestine was not amused and has advised the younger Catherine to drop being \u2018Alex Gonzaga\u2019 for what reasons?<\/p>\n

It has been ten days since Alex dropped the controversial bomb: Luis, magkano ang binili mo sa<\/em> award mo<\/em>\u00a0[how much did you pay for your award]? Alex finally speaks up.<\/p>\n

In an interview with PUSH, Alex explained what happened on September 3 during the 33rd<\/sup> Star Awards for Movies of the Philippine Movie Press Club (PMPC). As one of its hosts, Alex called on her close friend Luis Manzano who won the Darling of the Press award.<\/p>\n

\u201cI really meant no harm. Kami ni Kuya<\/em> Luis Manzano \u2018pag nagkikita talaga kami parang \u2018yung pinakamasasamang maiisip mo, \u2018yun ang parang<\/em> affections namin sa isa\u2019t isa <\/em>(Whenever Luis Manzano and I really meet, the worst things you can think of \u2013 that is our way of showing affections to each other),\u201d the actress said.<\/p>\n

She admitted that maybe in seeing Luis, she forgot that she was on stage as a host and that she was hosting an award show.<\/p>\n

The controversial host-actress said that Toni was also offended with her act. “Ang ate ko may<\/em> point siya na mag<\/em>-quit na daw ako sa showbiz. Ganun<\/em> level. Kasi bakit daw ganun \u2018yung mga ano ko<\/em>. (There was a point that my sister told me to quit showbiz, questioning how I acted and what I said.) Pero sa akin naman<\/em> (But for me), I’ll just charge it to experience na minsan <\/em>(that at times I have to) be careful,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Alex said that she apologized immediately and that she respects PMPC as an institution. \u201cThankful ako kasi naintindihan ako ng<\/em> press and hindi na siya ganung lumaki pa. <\/em>(I am really thankful that the press understood me and that it did not escalate to a bigger issue.) Kasi alam ng iba na biruan talaga namin \u2018yun<\/em> (They know that we really treat each other like that) and I\u2019m so happy also (because) kasi Kuya<\/em> Luis was there to help me kasi siya din ang nag<\/em>-explain sa mga<\/em> press na<\/em> \u00a0(since he was the one who told the press that) it was really a joke and I really meant no harm,\u201d she shared.<\/p>\n

In a guesting in Tonight with Boy Abunda, Luis described his relationship with Alex as cari\u00f1o brutal off camera. \u201cGanun talaga kami maglokohan<\/em> (We really mess with each other like that) and we\u2019re even worst behind the camera,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

While Luis responded to Alex by saying that he bought the award for P180, he admitted that \u2018it was a bit off.\u2019<\/p>\n

\u201cDon\u2019t get me wrong. I\u2019m not justifying din naman<\/em>. But at the same time, I understand na ganoon talaga kaming magkakaibigan <\/em>(that that is really how we are as friends),\u201d he said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
